Tim Emig, EVP, CTO and Co-Founder
Tim Emig has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry in fields ranging from network design and installation to delivery of video, data, and voice services worldwide over copper, fiber optic, and wireless networks.
Tim was the founding engineer for High Speed Access Corp (HSAC), which at the time was the 2nd largest integrator for CATV broadband Internet access in the United States. At HSAC Tim was responsible for working closely with the cable partners in augmenting and enhancing their networks to adapt more easily for integration of broadband, high speed, data services. Tim also provided ongoing technical support, merging the gap between CATV and the more traditional data networks.
In recent years, he has worked with several start-up companies such as Darwin Networks where he oversaw operation of the lab as well as evaluated new technologies for business development. At Telemics, Tim was instrumental in developing the proprietary communication protocol, as well as conducting field installation and testing of the wireless telemetry monitoring equipment.
Most recently, Tim spent several years working with CableVision Bermuda, managing the technical operations, where he installed and maintained the island's first fully digital headend, offering digital video and audio, as well as paving the way for high speed data services.
Tim returned to Louisville in 2005 to work with Insight Communications in establishing their National Network Operations Center, where he was the NOC manager. Tim managed the implementation and development of Insight's full scale telephony, high speed data, and CATV NOC.
In 2006, Tim teamed up with fellow High Speed Access co-founder, David Gibbs, in establishing what is now Nomad Innovations.
